Celebrating Community Advocate Rande Atcherson: A Partnership for Empowerment

At R2V2Q—ReNew & ReBuild: Voices & Visions Quarterly—we are dedicated to amplifying voices and fostering creativity to drive meaningful change within our communities.
In alignment with our mission, we are thrilled to announce a collaborative partnership with esteemed community activist Rande S. Atcherson, a native of Prince George's County with over 18 years of experience in strategic marketing, communications, and project management.

A Champion for Community Empowerment

Rande's unwavering commitment to community betterment is evident through his multifaceted roles. As the founder of Speak for a Cause, LLC, he has been instrumental in supporting local nonprofits, community leaders, and minority-owned businesses. His efforts focus on building strong, engaging missions and developing comprehensive marketing strategies that enhance both digital and print presence.speakforacause.com

Beyond his professional endeavors, Rande serves as the Vice President of the Board of Directors for the Largo Town Center Association. In this capacity, he has led initiatives emphasizing the importance of stormwater management and water quality—critical issues affecting the health and sustainability of our environment. His leadership was pivotal in influencing the Prince George's County Council to establish a task force dedicated to studying privately held stormwater systems across the county.largotowncenter.org

Collaborating for Sustainable Change

Our partnership with Rande is rooted in a shared vision of community empowerment and sustainable development. Together, we plan to embark on several initiatives:

  • Mental Health Awareness Campaigns: Leveraging Rande's role as President of the Board of Directors for Hillcrest Children and Family Center, we aim to launch campaigns addressing mental health disparities in underserved communities. These initiatives will combine art, storytelling, and educational resources to foster open dialogues and provide support.

  • Environmental Sustainability Projects: Recognizing Rande's expertise as a Master Gardener and his dedication to sustainable practices, we will collaborate on urban gardening workshops and community clean-up events. These projects aim to educate residents on the impact of gardening practices on water quality and promote environmental stewardship.

  • Creative Arts and Cultural Events: As a Spoken Word artist, Rande understands the power of art in driving social change. Together, we plan to host events that provide platforms for local artists to showcase their talents, share their stories, and inspire collective action.
